LAUER INSURANCE AGENCY HISTORY
Lauer Insurance Agency was started by Earl Lauer in 1963 out of his home in Eau Claire, WI. His wife, Bessie, was his office assistant and took calls using the very same phone number the business has today, 715-835-9698. Mike Lauer, son of Earl and Bessie, left his manager position at Randall Foods to take over the agency in 1981.
In 1988, Mike could no longer keep the business in his home and moved to 919 Fairfax Street – at that time known as the Bowen Building. The agency grew with Mike’s charismatic personality, business sense, and dedication to his clients.
In 2004, daughter Rebecca Lauer-Flaten joined the business as an agent. Rebecca left her job as a banker in Winona, MN to join the team and begin the 3rd generation at the agency. Rebecca helped move the agency into the digital world by utilizing more technology to meet clients need and make insurance more accessible for families and businesses on-the-go.
In 2010 as the agency continued to grow, daughter Mary Lauer-Hanson left her corporate human resources career to join forces with Mike & Rebecca.
In 2019 the agency moved to their current location at 4330 Golf Terrace, Suite 102 in Eau Claire.
Lauer Insurance Agency has continued to grow while maintaining relationships with their clients. They pride themselves on knowing their clients and no one is just a number.
